In order to support a wide variety of initiatives, Mission Roots changes up the charities they donate to semesterly.
CURRENT CHARITIES
Mamas For Mamas: A local charitable organization that supports mothers in crisis, and provides ongoing support to low income mamas and their kids.
Empower Generation: An organisation who works mainly in Nepal, to empower women already serving as household energy managers to become entrepreneurs, by training women to own a business and manage a sales force, supporting businesses to market and sell solar power and creating energized consumers.
PLAN Canada: Gives education, water, nutrition, healthcare and protection to a sponsored girl from a developing country. We are continuing to support our previous sponsorship.

Central Okanagan Food Bank: A local food bank, dedicated to creating a healthy, hunger-free community. Vulnerable Children Society: A grassroots Canadian NGO helping kids and families in Ethiopia WE Charity: An international organization that provides clean water for families and communities in rural villages by constructing infrastructure such as water kiosks. Inn from the Cold: A local homeless shelter that provides a safe place and a full meal for those in need during the cold winter months. Impact Made: $574.47 to help in providing mothers with funding for startups, that generate income to send their children to school.
Impact Made: $440.02 donated towards providing nutritious food for those in the Okanagan who are unable to obtain it. Impact Made: $598.88 put towards a program that enables former teen sex trade workers to receive healthcare, vocational training, and emotional support.
Impact Made: $560.29 used to provide clean water for life for a community of 22 people. Impact Made: $752.26 put towards purchasing and preparing a hot meal for 43 homeless individuals, as well as sponsoring rehabilitation programs. Impact Made: $667.13 used to sponsor a 12 year old girl in Haiti, providing her with access to healthcare, protection, nutrition, clean water, shelter, and education. |
